Trap Team Wins Conference, Qualifies 3 for MSHSL Individual State Meet

The Bemidji High School trap shooting team finished the regular season as champion of Class 9A, Conference 2 following the fifth and final week of competition. A trio of Lumberjacks earned All-State honors and the opportunity to compete in the MSHSL Individual State Tournament in June.
Nic Geiger, Tate Hammitt and Nicholas Peterson qualified for the state individual tournament, being in the top 100 shooters of nearly 12,000 statewide, earning All-State recognition and state tournament berths.

Geiger finished with a season average of 24.3 and is tied for 19th in the state rankings. Hammitt ended with a season average of 23.9 and is tied for 59th in the state, while Peterson concluded the year with a 23.7 average and is tied for 97th in the state.

The MSHSL Individual State Tournament will be held June 21 at the Minneapolis Gun Club in Prior Lake.
