In the cold, snowy conditions at the Class 5A state quarterfinal game at Husky Stadium on Saturday night, the winner would be determined by who could run the ball more effectively.

Bemidji made the result clear by the end of the first half for a 38-7 lead and cruised through the rest of the game for a 51-15 win over Cambridge-Isanti.

With the victory, the Bemidji advances to the Class 5A state semifinals, where it will take on St. Thomas Academy (11-0). Kickoff between the Jacks and St. Thomas is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
