Defense saved the day for the Bemidji High School boys hockey team on Tuesday.
The Lumberjacks put up four goals against Crookston at the Bemidji Community Arena, but it was a shutout from Broc Waldhausen and a perfect penalty kill that made for some breathing room in the 4-0 win.
Bemidji will return to the ice at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, in East Grand Forks. And while the Jacks have now won three in a row, Monsrud said their next two games (against EGF and St. Michael-Albertville) will be a good measuring stick going into the final month of the regular season.
