The Bemidji High School wrestling team has officially learned its spot in the Class 3A team state tournament.
The Lumberjacks earned the No. 4 seed when seedings were announced on Tuesday. They’ll take on fifth-seeded Forest Lake in the first round, who BHS beat 37-29 in a dual meet in Bemidji on Feb. 8.
The Jacks-Rangers winner will advance to face either No. 1 Shakopee or unseeded Northfield in the semifinals. On the other half of the bracket, No. 2 Stillwater Area paired with unseeded East Ridge, and No. 3 St. Michael-Albertville drew unseeded Eden Prairie.
Bemidji will get going with its first state tournament since 2011 at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
The state semifinals are set for 1 p.m. and the championship for 7 p.m. The consolation semifinals will take place at 11 a.m., while the third-place bout and consolation championship will follow at 5 p.m.
