Members of the Bemidji High School wrestling team celebrated their 2016-17 season with an awards banquet Sunday night. Amongst many individual awards, BHS was also recognized as being Academic All-State by the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association for posting a team GPA of 3.76, the second highest in Class 2A.

Four Bemidji High School wrestlers suited up for the Class AA individual state tournament Friday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul in a set of challenging first round matches.
All four Lumberjacks were making their state tournament debuts as the group sustained first-round losses to open play.
Four members of the Bemidji High School wrestling team will take the mat at the Xcel Energy Center for the first time when the Class AA state individual wrestling tournament begins today in St. Paul.
The Lumberjack quartet of senior Xavier Whalen, junior Jon Solum and sophomores Bryce Golden and Chance Hinrichs are all first-time competitors at the state meet.
