Bemidji High School sophomore Lexi Leitner had the game’s opening goal Friday at Bemidji Community Arena, but that’s all the offense the Jacks could muster and the North Wright County girls hockey team took an 8-1 win.
The Lumberjacks (1-7) will look for their second win of the season when they head to Crookston to take on the Pirates at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Crookston Sports Center.

Senior Sarah Bruder and junior Becca Josefson each scored their first varsity hockey goals for the Bemidji High School girls hockey team on Tuesday.
The goals helped the Jacks put a scare in to Class A No. 8 Thief River Falls, but in the end the Prowlers held on for a 3-2 win at Bemidji Community Arena.
Bemidji will look to return to the win column at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, when they host North Wright County at the BCA.
