The final meet of the regular season ended with runner-up finishes for the Bemidji High School boys and girls track and field teams Monday. Competing in front of a home crowd, the Lumberjacks claimed second place at the Bemidji Invitational with the boys collecting 196.5 points and the girls 170.5.
Next on the docket for the Lumberjacks is the Section 8AA prelim meet in Fergus Falls on May 29. They’ll hope to advance athletes onto the finals in Willmar June 1, and then to state.
The Bemidji High School track and field teams fell a step behind Moorhead on Tuesday, as both the boys and girls lost the dual meet on the road. The BHS girls were bested 107-70, while the Lumberjack boys fell 108-64. Bemidji won 13 events in total, seven coming on the girls side and six coming from the boys.
BHS will be back home for the Bemidji Invitational at 4 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the high school.
At the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday, Jordan Mann took seventh place in the 100-meter dash, highlighting the day for the Bemidji High School track and field teams.
On the boys side, Jordan Brown took ninth in the long jump with a 20-04.50 mark, while Ryan Bieberdorf was 10th in the triple jump at 41-05.50.
The Lumberjacks will next take on the Grand Rapids Invitational on Tuesday, April 30.
