Senior Taylor Offerdahl and junior Damaris Berg will represent the BHS girls team at the Class 3A state golf tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11-12 at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids. Senior Bjorn Jorgenson will rep the boys squad.
Bemidji Pioneer Article:
For the first time in her career, Taylor Offerdahl carded a sub-80 score at state.
The Bemidji High School senior was one of three Lumberjacks participating in the Class 3A state tournament at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids on Tuesday, and she finished day one with a six-over-par 78 and a share of 17th place.
Alongside Offerdahl, junior Damaris Berg finished with an 18-over 90 on Tuesday. Berg is tied for 64th.
On the boys side, senior Bjorn Jorgenson tied for 74th with an 11-over 83. After an eight-over front nine, Jorgenson settled in with a three-over 39 on the back nine.
Day 2 continues today at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids.
Bjorn Jorgenson will represent the Bemidji High School boys golf team at the Class 3A State Tournament next month. The senior tied for fourth individually after the two-round Section 8-3A Championship concluded Thursday at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids.
Jorgenson was unable to hold on to his one-shot lead following his first-round 70, but a 76 was enough to place him among the individual state qualifiers Thursday as he completed the tournament with a two-round score of 146. The top five individuals not on the team champion qualify for state.
