Friday: Varsity Practice--meet in Tak's room
Monday: Play Sauk Rapids-Rice at 2 pm
We have a couple of fundraising options for this season. The first is to sell signs that would be displayed at our summer complex. Businesses can commit to a 5 year, 3 year or 1 year contract. BHS softball will receive 50% of the sales while the remaining 50% will go to the summer program. Information is below.
Another option is through the Babe Ruth FlipGive program. With this any shopping you already do online can now be done through our team page with the same stores you already shop at. A portion of the sales will go to our program. Information can be found by following this link:
We are asking that each player secures a $30-50 donation/sponsorship. Checks can be made out to BHS Softball. These can come from family members, businesses, friends, etc. We greatly appreciate your support of BHS Softball.
Follow BHS Softball on Twitter! Much of our information, news, etc is disseminated in this fashion. Thanks!
he Lumberjacks were an out away from forcing a winner-take-all Section 8-3A championship game against Detroit Lakes, but two last-out errors marked the end of Bemidji’s season in a 13-12 loss on Wednesday.
Only one of four teams could survive Monday’s elimination games in the Section 8-3A Tournament. The Bemidji High School softball team made sure it had a say in who.
With a 12-2 rout over Sauk Rapids-Rice and an 8-4 encore over Alexandria at the BHS softball field, the Lumberjacks kept their season alive.
BHS will next face the loser of No. 1 seed Sartell-St. Stephen and No. 3 Detroit Lakes, which will be played Tuesday, May 28. The matchup will be on Wednesday, May 29, but time and location are still to be determined.
The winner of the Bemidji game will stay for a shot at the undefeated team. And so, if Bemidji wins twice on Wednesday, they’ll force a winner-take-all section championship game.
By an inch -- maybe two -- Emma Stanoch missed out on a go-ahead home run for the Bemidji High School softball team on Thursday.
Instead, Stanoch’s sixth-inning fly ball bounced off the very top of the left-field wall and went down as a long RBI single. The Lumberjacks ultimately tied Detroit Lakes during the Section 8-3A Tournament winner’s bracket semifinal at the BHS softball field, but the Lakers scored the winning run in the seventh for a 6-5 upset.
Bemidji will host fourth-seeded Sauk Rapids-Rice on Monday, May 27, at the BHS softball field. The winner will keep its season alive for a follow-up game against the winner of No. 7 seed Little Falls and No. 5 seed Alexandria.
In all, the Jacks now have to win five consecutive games to clinch the Section 8-3A championship.
