The Bemidji High School softball team rolled to its third straight victory with a 16-5 win at Willmar in five innings on Thursday.
The win was the second straight for the Lumberjacks (4-10) via the 10-run rule following Tuesday’s home doubleheader sweep of Duluth East by scores of 5-4 and 15-3.
The Jacks will next travel to St. Cloud Apollo for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18.
Isabelle Neadeau finished 3-for-3 in the first game, which included two doubles and two RBIs. She added a 2-for-3 showing in game two with another two RBIs. Neadeau delivered the game-winning RBI double in a 5-4 win over Duluth East, then contributed to a 15-3 walloping in game two of a doubleheader sweep at the BHS softball field.
Bemidji will next head to Willmar for a 4:30 p.m. road game on Thursday, May 13.
The Bemidji High School softball team fell by scores of 6-3 and 14-4 in a doubleheader Tuesday at Rocori.
The Spartans improved to 7-7 with the wins, while the Lumberjacks dropped to 1-9.
The teams were tied at 3-3 following three innings in game one. Rocori took the lead in the fourth and tacked on two more runs in the sixth to capture the 6-3 victory.
Taylor Waukazo pitched all 11 innings for Bemidji on Tuesday. She struck out five, walked five and allowed six runs (four earned) on nine hits in game one. In the nightcap, Waukazo recorded four strikeouts, six walks and gave up 14 runs (seven earned) on eight hits.
The Lumberjacks will look to snap their six-game losing streak when they return to the diamond for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader at Fergus Falls on Thursday, May 6.
